New screenshots for the upcoming PSP game God Eater are available for viewing here. The game will allow players to create and customize their own character before joining other God Eaters to battle a mysterious creature known as Aragami. God Eater's release date has not yet been set.

Two New Rock Band Unplugged Tracks Available

Two new tracks are now available for download in Rock Band Unplugged's in-game music store. The songs being added to the game's music library are Bullet For My Valentine's song "Waking the Demon" and the System of a Down song "Toxicity". Each song costs $1.99.

Mega Man Maverick Hunter X and Darkstalkers Chronicles Now Available on the PSN

Capcom has made Mega Man Maverick Hunter X and Darkstalkers Chronicles available for download on the PSN. Mega Man Maverick Hunter X features updated graphics and new unlockable features, while Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower has updates and a redesign.

Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires Screenshots

New screenshots for the upcoming PSP title Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires are available for viewing here. Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires is a port of the PS3 and Xbox 360 title and will feature all the content that those titles did, including 16 pieces of downloadable content. Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires comes out in Japan on December 23, 2009. A US release date has not yet been set.

SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 Release Date Pushed Back

The release date for upcoming PSP title SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 has been pushed back.The game was originally due out this November, but it sadly won't be out in time for the holiday season. The new release date for SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 is January 12th, 2010.

Mark Rogers, the SCEA Senior Producer says that "the PSP title's development is on schedule and we are extremely pleased with all aspects of the title. It's looking and playing great."

Here's hoping that SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 is worth the wait. 

New Darius Burst Screenshots

New screenshots from the upcoming PSP game Darius Burst are now available for viewing here. The newest title in the classic shoot-em-up franchise will feature the same top-notch gameplay that has made the Darius series so popular. A release date for Darius Burst has not yet been set.

New Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Demo Comes Out November 1

A new demo of the upcoming PSP title Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker comes out in Japan on November 1. The demo will feature content from the first Peace Walker demo as well as new content, including a third control scheme. The demo will be available for Japanese gamers to download from the PSN store and from the Peacewalker site. A North American release for the demo had yet to be announced.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron Screenshot Picture

A new picture from the upcoming PSP title Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron has surfaced (pictured above). Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron puts players in the shoes of a highly skilled clone trooper known only as X2. The game will feature single player campaign mode and multi-player mode for up to 16 players. Battlefront: Elite Squadron comes out on November 3, 2009.

Cho Aniki Zero Announced

Aksys Games has announced a new shooter for the PSP: Cho Aniki Zero. "Cho Aniki Zero is a real trip," says the associate producer of Aksys Games, Frank deWindt II. "It's wacky, hilarious, and just plain fun. Be it the crazy characters, the challenging gameplay, or even the out-of-this-world enemies, you'll find yourself chugging down protein shakes between levels before you know it!"

Cho Aniki Zero comes out in the spring of 2010.

New RPG Mimana Iyar Chronicles Announced for PSP

Aksys Games has announced their plans to bring a new RPG titled Mimana Iyar Chronicles to the PSP. The game is written by people who worked on the Lunar series and Tales of Destiny 2, and will feature map exploration as well as dungeon exploring.

Mimana Iyar Chronicles will be released in the Spring of 2010.

Atlus Releases New Games for the PSP Store

New Rock Band Unplugged Tracks for PSP

Two new tracks will soon be available for the PSP edition of Rock Band Unplugged. These tracks are Sonic Youth – "Kool Thing" and Steely Dan – "My Old School", and will be available on October 29th. Each track will be $1.99 in Rock Band's in game music store.

Armored Core 3 Portable Available on PSN

 The hit mecha game Armored Core 3 Portable is now available for download in the PSN store. The game allows you to pilot your own customizable mech and features over 50 missions. Armored Core 3 Portable is rated T for Teen by the ESRB, and costs $14.99 to download.

Prinny Sequel Announced

A sequel to the hit PSP platformer Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero has been announced. While no title or release date has been given, Nippon Ichi confirmed that they plan to make a follow-up title to the Disgaea spin-off game.

The original Prinny game is available in stores now.

New VEMPIRE Screenshots

Screenshots of the newly released puzzle game VEMPIRE are now available for viewing here. In VEMPIRE, players must rotate squares of blocks and create rows or columns of four or more blocks of the same type. When they do, the blocks will be destroyed and more will blocks fall down. To beat each level, you must delete enough blocks before time runs out.

VEMPIRE and Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2 Now in the PSN Store

VEMPIRE and Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2 are now available for download in the PSP store. VEMPIRE is a casual puzzle game with strategy elements, while Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2 is a storyline heavy Mahjonhgg title. To download the games, head to the PSP Minis section of the PlayStation Network Store.

The Lost Frontier takes place after the end of the original Jak and Daxter trilogy and will allow players to participate in sky battles and customize their own aircraft. Q Games No Longer Wants to Port Games to PSP

Q Games, creators of the popular PixelJunk series, are considering abandoning the PSP. Q Games founder Dylan Cuthbert says "I don't think we'll port anything else to the PSP...we have to see how [PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe] does as there's a 'lot' of piracy."

The PixelJunk series is a favorite of the PSN and has been well received by critics.  The most recent game, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, came out on October 01, 2009.

New Creature Defense Screenshots

Screenshots for the upcoming strategy game Creature Defense are now available for viewing here. Creature Defense is a Tower Defense style game, and will be available to download in the PSN store. The game is being published by Hudson Entertainment, who is best known for the Bomberman Series.

Rockstar plans to add several new PSP titles to the PSN digital store. The games will be a part of the new "Rockstar Legacy Collection", and will begin arriving this month, along with a new Rockstar themed storefront on October 22. The games announced so far are:

Upcoming PSP RPGs

From ports of classic PS2 games to original titles like Jeanne D'arc, PSP owners have quite a few excellent RPGs to choose from. 2010 will see the release of several more great RPGs. Here are a few you should keep your eye out for:

The Little Battlers:

The Little Battlers, known as Cardboard Senki in Japan, is a new RPG from Jeanne D'arc creators Level 5. The game will allow players to build their own robots and battle them against others in both single and multiplayer play. The game has yet to receive a release date.


Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep:

The PSP's first Kingdom Hearts game is set some time before the original Kingdom Hearts game. The game will feature characters Terra, Ven and Aqua, and introduces a new type of enemy known as the Unversed. No release date has been announced.


La Pucelle Ragnarok:

La Pucelle Ragnarok is a remake of the Nippon Ichi strategy RPG. Like the Disgaea ports, this version is expected to feature more characters and additional chapters. La Pucelle comes out at the end of 2009 in Japan, and is expected to show up in US stores sometime next year.


Parasite Eve 3: The Third Birthday:

The Playstation One series Parasite Eve continues with this new chapter in Aya Brea's story. Gamers can expect dungeon crawling gameplay and more of the same atmosphere and style that the earlier games possessed. A release date for Parasite Eve 3 has yet to be announced.

Tales of Rebirth PSP:

The PS2 game Tales of Rebirth is also getting a PSP upgrade. For those who haven't played the turn based RPG, the game uses 2D sprites on 3D backgrounds and a plane based battle system. The PSP remake of Rebirth has already been released in Japan. A US release date has yet to be announced, but given the popularity of other Tales games, it looks likely.

Ushiro:

Ushiro is yet another new PSP RPG from Level-5. This one is a horror game that will put players in the shoes of a Shinigami who has the power to prevent bad things from happening. It will feature a turn based battle system. The release date has yet to be announced.
